Lisa Shiozaki, MPA, HBScN

Lisa believes in creating a workplace culture that improves the patient experience through inspired individuals and highly engaged teams. She is at her best when advocating for wellness by integrating the art of caring with the science of cure. Lisa and her husband Doug, residents of Campbellville, are parents in a blended family of 6 amazing children who have all become successful. Lisa and Doug value the time they spend together sailing on their boat, traveling around the world and enjoying life with the family.

Professional Experience

Lisa has over 30 years of healthcare experience, the last decade of which has been spent as a senior executive team member in a large multi-site organization. Having been both the chief operating officer and chief nursing executive, Lisa was accountable for strategic planning, quality and risk, all patient care services, interprofessional practice and workforce management at a $500 million organization. She is also highly regarded as an expert, providing medico-legal opinions on the standard of care in healthcare organizations across Canada.

Signature Engagements

  • Trusted advisor to executive leadership teams and board of trustees for implementation of Evidence-Based LeadershipSM
  • Ensured compliance with practice standards, standards of care, external best practice standards and redevelopment projects as an executive leader for interprofessional practice and collaboration
  • Co-chaired the hospital system funding reform partnership committee at the CELHIN, with membership at the provincial table for the MOHLTC in Ontario
  • Created and implemented “regeneration”, a principle-based strategy that applied efficient practices to the management of patient care, resolving much of a $24 million deficit, without bed closures or service reductions
  • Revitalized program management by clarifying roles, accountabilities and partnership and actualizing the 8 dimensions of quality
