One of nine hospitals in the health system, Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is a regional destination for specialized care.

The medical center provides more than 440 private patient rooms within a home-like environment for the comfort of patients and their families. Teamwork among physicians, nurses and other professionals supports the facility's status as Level II adult and pediatric trauma centers, an accredited pain center and a certified primary stroke center. PRMC also features specialty centers for orthopedics, women's and children's health, cancer and cardiovascular care.

Since partnering closely with the emergency department experts at Studer Group in fall 2018, the emergency department has been able to increase their overall rating for Professional Research Consultants (PRC) from the 41.8 percentile (1st quarter 2018) to the 91.3 percentile. Other achievements include:
  • Refinement of the daily and shift huddles to focus on ED specific throughput times.
  • Engagement of nurse leaders to increase quantity and frequency of patient rounds and staff rounds. During the staff rounds, leaders are able to give feedback about growth and have increased mentoring opportunities among the team.
  • Implementation of a Stoplight Report on huddle boards.
  • Monthly hospital ED Stakeholder Meeting take place to discuss hospital flow, its effect on ED metrics and barriers that can be overcome as a team.

Parkview Health has been named Most Wired® for five consecutive years and has been designated a Magnet® health system for nursing excellence. In addition, Parkview Regional Medical Center has received 11 consecutive ‘A’s from The Leapfrog Group’s spring and fall Hospital Safety Grades.
