Southern Regional Health System has been named as the Fire Starter organization for the month of January by the Studer Group. Southern Regional was selected from more than 400 other hospitals throughout the U.S. The selection was based on patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction and quality of care scores from patients.

Bonn adds, "It means that the commitment we made as an organization in 2001 to effect a change in our organizational culture by focusing on delivering excellent patient care and customer service is paying off with very impressive results."
Since implementing the Studer Group’s blueprint for success, Southern Regional is reporting its highest patient satisfaction and quality of care scores. In addition, Southern Regional was recently named by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of its’ "A+ Employers", for the second year. "Our goal is to be the employer of choice and remain the health care provider of choice within the Southern Crescent. The Studer Group’s announcement is very special to us because it provides us with a strong indication that we are achieving our goals."
Southern Regional Health System offers comprehensive health resources, including: Southern Regional Medical Center, a 376 bed, full-service hospital in Riverdale. The medical center features a long term acute care hospital, a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center, the Women's Life Center, a Diabetes Resource Center and one of the busiest emergency departments in the state. Southern Regional Health System is also comprised of RiverWoods, Southern Regional Psychiatric Center, which provides mental health, and substance abuse treatment. Home health care is provided by Southern Regional’s Homecare and additional outpatient surgery is performed at the Surgery Center at Mount Zion located in Morrow, Georgia.
