Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is a fully-accredited acute care facility located in Warrensburg, Missouri. A not-for-profit county Medical Center, WMMC offers comprehensive healthcare services to residents of Johnson County and west central Missouri. WMMC prides itself in emergency care, obstetrics, orthopedic and general surgery, family healthcare, internal medicine, outpatient clinics, ambulatory care, rehabilitation services and more. Inpatient services include medical, surgical, intensive, obstetrical, orthopedic, pediatric and skilled nursing care, as well as a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic outpatient services.

WMMC’s mission is to improve the health of its greater community by providing quality health care services, exceeding the expectations of those served. Through its ASPIRE Values (Accountability, Service, Promote Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence), WMMC’s vision is to be the preferred provider of exceptional health care services through six Pillars of Excellence: Community, Medical Staff Engagement, Employee Engagement, Quality, Clinical Services and Financial Performance.

When it first opened on July 31, 1963, Johnson County Memorial Hospital (JCMH), as it was known at the time, was a 58-bed hospital. In 1986, JCMH became Western Missouri Medical Center. As the needs of the greater community continued to grow, WMMC broke ground on a nearly $51.5 million building project that expanded and renovated the facility, bringing it to roughly 215,000 square feet—nearly double the size of the previous facility.

The new Patient Tower opened in December of 2011, with 300-square-foot private patient rooms with designated areas for families, visitors and caregivers with 72 rooms total: 27 Medical/24 Surgical/13 Obstetric/8 Intensive Care. In June 2014, WMMC opened a three-story Medical Office Building (MOB). The $8.4 million project is a state-of-the-art MOB that features 43,298 square feet attached to the current facility. Specialty services provided in the new MOB include a brand new Cancer Center; Surgical Services of Warrensburg (general and bariatric surgeons); Sleep Lab; Western Missouri Pain Center; and the Outpatient Lab, all conveniently located in close proximity to the Outpatient Entrance. The MOB has room to grow as WMMC expands its services to accommodate the evolving healthcare needs of the region.

Putting patients first is in everything WMMC does, from the comfortable new, private rooms and relaxing healing environment to the expert care provided by the highly trained and compassionate staff.
